Seth is so excited. The Christian rap artist named Lecrae is going to be in concert in Boaz, a town close to us, on November 8th. It will benefit a local crisis pregnancy center.

Jehovah-Jireh is one of the Names of God… It means “God Will Provide” and He is proving it to me over and over. He is SO FAITHFUL!

I am about to be planning a party (not surprise) for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary in February. We are also thinking about them renewing their vows. I’ve never even been to a vow renewal ceremony, so I’m like a fish out of water with this. We will not be able to spend much money, and we don’t want it to be elaborate anyway. Mom has been so sick and spent A LOT of time in the hospital the last few years, so she won’t be able to do much. We will be inviting our family, friends, and church family and will probably be having it at our church.
I would absolutely LOVE some ideas if anyone has experience with this type of thing! We threw a small surprise party for their 47th anniversary, but I would like this to be a little more special without being expensive. Did I say it needs to be cheap?! lol
Thanks for any ideas you can throw my way!

Monday, while running errands and after getting home, I jotted down a list of things I am thankful for, and I wanted to share with you:
This verse I’m about to discuss is very relevant to my life right now – not just in one situation, but several. I am an extremely impatient person. At least I can admit it! And I know God is working on me.
We have a painting that usually hangs in our living room (when we have our own place) of a dock in a lake with this verse on it. (Not the picture below, I just liked it!) I have always loved the verse and painting, but the verse really spoke to my situations when I read it just now. So I hope this verse speaks to you like it did to me tonight.
“Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.” – Psalm 37:7 NIV

COLLEGE FOOTBALL STARTS SATURDAY!!!
I am a true Alabama fan. I have been all of my life, and I think my love of college football grows every year. One of the best things about being from the South… We KNOW our football! We also have one of the most vicious rivalries down here… Alabama or Auburn. I’m pretty sure the “Irreconcilable Differences” in some divorces have been for this reason!
Blue is a pretty color and orange can be nice on some things, but I DO NOT put those colors together! In fact, the only thing I can remember ever winning as far as a door prize was at the “Taste of Gadsden” in downtown Gadsden a few months ago. I won an Auburn door mat! It ended up in our church’s benefit auction… I couldn’t even bring myself to give it to an Auburn fan!
I have NEVER been to a game, but hopefully we will make it one very soon. I can promise you that come this Saturday and every Saturday for the next few months, I will be in front of that tv screen. And despite my usually mild-mannered attitude… my competitive streak will be out in full force for those 3 hours!
I am in the middle of working through a Kay Arthur Bible study called “Lord, Teach Me To Pray”. The study is about using the Lord’s Prayer as a model for our prayer life. Our women’s ministry has already finished the study, but I am behind on my homework so I’m still working on it. I wanted to share this thought with you because it meant so much to me when I read it weeks ago and is still on my heart.
