I am in the middle of working through a Kay Arthur Bible study called “Lord, Teach Me To Pray”. The study is about using the Lord’s Prayer as a model for our prayer life. Our women’s ministry has already finished the study, but I am behind on my homework so I’m still working on it. I wanted to share this thought with you because it meant so much to me when I read it weeks ago and is still on my heart.
Our H.E.A.R.T.S. (Hands Eager And Ready To Serve) women’s ministry bible study group at hfc (what a mouthful!) started a new study tonight. It is Kay Arthur’s “Lord, Teach Me To Pray”. It’s a relatively short study of 4 weeks which focuses on the Lord’s Prayer as the model Jesus gave us for learning to pray.
We are a little over halfway finished with our current bible study at hfc – JESUS: The One & Only written by Beth Moore. It’s AMAZING! We are going through the life of Jesus from birth to death by way of the book of Luke. Beth Moore is such a gifted author & speaker. I don’t believe there is anything fake or superficial about Beth Moore! God has used her to help make the Bible come more alive for me. She keeps emphasizing that we should feel like we are in the biblical scene that we are studying. We should be able to hear the expressions in their voices and see the clothes they are wearing.
I love the group of ladies at hfc! What I love most about our church is also one of the things I love most about this group of ladies… they are REAL! Such sweet friendships!
I LOVE doing the homework, but for some reason, I have been getting behind the last few weeks. I feel like it may be Satan’s way of trying to get me distracted and not in the Word like I should be. But it could also just be me procrastinating!
